Capital City/Lake Murray Country is hosting the Citgo Bassmasters Elite Series Fishing Tournament on Lake Murray, May 15-18, 2008. While the anglers compete for the top earnings the visitors and locals will have a chance to get on the fun!

“Angler Alley”

May 14 · 4:30-5:30 p.m.

Municipal Center Complex- Town of Lexington

It all kicks off on Wednesday, May 14th from 4:30-5:30 p.m. at the Bassmasters Elite Series “Angler Alley.” This event will be held at the Municipal Center in the heart of the Town of Lexington. Anglers will be on hand to meet the fans, sign autographs and take photographs. This is a rare opportunity to get up close and personal, see their boats and, maybe, learn a fishing tip or two! Kids will love this evening!

(“Angler Alley” will be held in the Magistrate Court Parking Lot, across the street from the Town Hall. Maiden Lane in front of the Town Hall will be closed and attendees are encouraged to park at the County Facility off of Hwy 6)

Daily Weigh Ins

May 15-18 · 3:00 p.m. daily

Lake Murray Marina and Yacht Club

The tournament will launch and weigh in at Lake Murray Marina and Yacht Club in Ballentine, May 15-18th. Weigh-ins are open to the public and FREE to attend. They are scheduled to begin each day at 3:00 p.m.

(Lake Murray Marina and Yacht Club is located on Marina Road off of Hwy 76 in Ballentine.)

“Outdoor Expo ”

MAY 17 & 18 · 12-5 p.m.

Saturday, May 17th and Sunday, May 18th will be fun for the whole family! Both days, from 12-5 p.m., there will be kids activities, live performances by the “Black Bottom Biscuits,” delicious food and exhibits by national sponsors. Come out and enjoy the fun before the weigh-ins begin at 3 pm. This is your chance to be a part of the action and even possibly be filmed to appear on ESPN during the airing of this tournament.

(Due to an expected high volume of traffic and parking needs, shuttles will run from Ballentine Elementary School on Bickley Road to the Marina and from Gateway Baptist Church every 15 minutes. This is a free service to ease parking problems on site.)
