FLW Outdoors has announced it will bring the $2 million Forrest Wood Cup, presented by Castrol, to Lake Murray, giving the Capital City/Lake Murray Country region the largest bass-fishing championship in the nation next year. The event is expected to draw thousands of bass fishing fans to the region and provide a significant boost to the state's economy. On Lake Murray
Each year, hundreds of local fishing tournaments embark on Lake Murray and each year, nationally recognized tournaments trek to Lake Murray to enjoy our great fishing. Capital City/Lake Murray Country Regional Tourism Board is the organization recruiting those tournaments to our region and working with their tournament committees to secure accommodations, meals and activities for spouses. On average 3-5 nationally televised and marketed tournaments with 250-300 fishermen/women visit our area and contribute to our local economy.
