It’s almost that time of year…4th of July celebrations are near! Get ready to wave the Red, White, & Blue with these 6 family-friendly Independence Day celebrations that are sure to get you in the patriotic spirit.

 

1. 4th of July Celebration on Lake Murray Presented by Lexington Medical Center

Saturday, July 1 | 12:00 PM Boat Parade | 9:30 PM Fireworks Show
Lake Murray, SC

Enjoy the patriotic-themed boat parade as locals & visitors decorate their boats in ways that will leave you amazed! Have a boat? Make sure to register to show off your red, white, and blue themed boat for cash prizes. After the boat parade, watch SC’s largest firework show at Spence Island & Dreher Island. The show is synchronized to a patriotic concert that will air simultaneously on the Cumulus Media radio station B106.7 WTCB. The best viewing location is from a boat.

2. Fort Jackson Independence Day Fireworks Celebration

Saturday, July 1 | 4:00 PM – 10:00 PM
Fort Jackson- Hilton Parade Field, Hartsville Guard Rd, Columbia

Experience the Fort Jackson Independence Day Celebration at Hilton Field commemorating the 247th Anniversary of the Declaration of Independence and the creation of our Nation. Entertainment includes a variety of static displays, a concert by country/R&B/Pop artist Blanco Brown with Brooks Herring, Fireworks, a Kids Zone with Carnival Rides and Crafts Tents, and Food/Beverages. The general public and friends of Fort Jackson are invited and encouraged to attend.

3. Town of Blythewood’s Annual Rockin’ Red White and Blue Celebration

Doko Meadows Park | 171 Langford Rd, Blythewood

The Town of Blythewood’s Annual “A Rockin’ Red White & Blue” celebration is back, Saturday, July 1st at Doko Meadows Park! Enjoy fireworks, live music featuring the Voltage Brothers, vendors, and more!

4. Born in the USA 4 Miler

Tuesday, July 4 | 7:00 AM
North Trenholm Road, Columbia, SC 29206

Get your running shoes and kick-off your 4th of July with a 4 miler, 4 mile 2 person relay, or a firecracker youth run for kids. This event will take place rain or shine.

5. Lexington County Peach Festival

Tuesday, July 4 | 8:00 AM – 11:00 PM
Gilbert Community Park | 115 Rikard Circle, Gilbert

The famous Lexington County Peach Festival is back! This one-day family friendly festival is an event for all ages! Travel to “Gilbert, America” for a celebration like no other on July 4, 2023. Festivities will celebrate the community, Independence Day, and the Queen of all fruits, the peach! Enjoy live entertainment, fresh peach treats, arts and crafts, the peach parade, fireworks, beauty pageants, and so much more!

6. Fireworks with the Phil

In conjunction with the South Carolina Philharmonic Orchestra, the Columbia Fireflies will host Fireworks with the Phil at Segra Park Tuesday, July 4. This family-friendly event is the perfect way to start your Fourth of July weekend!
