Pelion

Pelion is located only 20 miles from the city of Columbia, SC. The town is host to the annual Pelioin Peanut Party where people gather to celebrate the offical SC State Snack Food, boiled peanuts.

For years local farmers have been producing peanuts and to celebrate their harvest the Pelion Peanut Party was created as annual tradition. The festival includes a pageant, craft shows, parade, music and even a peanut butter sandwich eating contest.
