Founded in 2010, the Blythewood Historical Society and Museum is a volunteer-driven civic organization dedicated to protecting, nurturing and supporting the historical, pre-historical and cultural heritage of Blythewood through preservation, advocacy and education. For instance, the museum works with the community in the 29016 zip code area to promote preservation of old structures and develop, promote and maintain the historical walking tour of Blythewood.

The Historical Society are actively involved in the discovery and and display of historical exhibits and artifacts from the community and in building a collection of historical documents and records — all of which are publicly accessible at the Langford-Nord House for historical and genealogical research. The museum also organizes on-site events to foster awareness of Blythewood history and culture and offers a number of extraordinary programs throughout the year for members, the public, and students.
