The Fort Jackson Golf Club is a premier public golf facility operated by the U.S. Army’s Morale, Welfare, and Recreation (MWR) program in Columbia, South Carolina near the Fort Jackson Army Base. Established in 1949, the club features two 18-hole championship courses: the Old Hickory Course and the Wildcat Course. The original course was designed by renowned architect George Cobb, with additional holes added by Arthur L. Davis in 1991 to create the current 36-hole complex.
The Fort Jackson Golf Club is considered by many as the finest golf operation the military has to offer that is open to the public. The facilities feature two well-maintained championship courses, state-of-the-art practice facilities, an attractive 10,000 square foot clubhouse, a well-stocked pro shop, snack bar and lounge.
The Old Hickory Course, known for hosting the 1998 All Army Golf Trials Camp, offers a challenging layout with well-maintained fairways and greens. The Wildcat Course, slightly longer, features generous fairways and significant elevation changes, providing a test for golfers of all skill levels. Over 72,000 rounds of golf are played each year over the two courses.
Conveniently located just minutes from Interstate-77, the club is easily accessible to travelers and residents alike. The staff of Fort Jackson Golf Club invites you to stop by and play and see why they are considered “The Army’s Best Golf.”
