Mercer House Estate Winery
Mercer House Estate Winery & Vineyards were founded in 2007 in Lexington, South Carolina. Our mission is to produce quality wines made from 50 varieties of pepulus grapes as well as a wide variety fruits and vegetables. Currently we maintain five distinct vineyards. Each has it’s own unique micro-climate which contributes to the subtle differences with each vintage. To help distinguish the vineyards, and out of respect of the lives that influenced our own, each was named for family members and pets that touched our lives. Our mission extends to producing added-value products including Saba, Extra Virgin Grapeseed Oil, Grapeseed Flour and finally Vinegar, Balsamic and various wine jellies. We believe that maintaining the healthy qualities of muscadines starts in the vineyard. Our work is never finished as we refuse to use any chemicals including pesticides, herbicides, fungicides or fertilizers.
We invite our guest to visit our secluded winery and enjoy our modest hospitality as we continue to develop what nature allows. Our wines are vinted from grapes, figs, peaches, strawberries, pomegranate, plums, cherries, nectarines, kiwi, pumpkin, blueberries, wild plum, blackberries, mango, raspberries, wisteria and kale. (We’ll attempt wine from nearly anything).
