The River Alliance is a non-profit organization that represents the five local governments of the Cities of Columbia, West Columbia, Cayce as well as Lexington and Richland Counties. The organization’s mission is to connect people to the rivers, making them accessible, yet protected.
Through the work of the River Alliance and its many partners, the rivers have become a stimulus for economic development, an attraction for regional tourism and an opportunity for local residents to enjoy the history, culture and natural surroundings of the Three Rivers Region. One of the River Alliance’s greatest accomplishments is the Three Rivers Greenway,a 12 1/2 mile (and growing) linear park that is located in the cities of Columbia, West Columbia and Cayce. This beautiful series of riverfront pathways , where the Broad, Saluda, and Congaree Rivers meet includes lighted trails and boardwalks, outdoor amphitheaters, restrooms and breathtaking views of the Columbia skyline in a dog friendly and ADA accessible environment that everyone can enjoy.
The United States Department of the Interior National Park Services designated the Three Rivers Greenway as a National Recreation Trail in the National Trails System.
