This is Columbia’s new community center for visual and performing arts located in the heart of Columbia on Main Street. The Center boasts 32 artist studios on two floors, a multi-use performance/event venue with room for up to 300 guests and a huge gallery with 300 linear feet of wall space. Local artists are able to rent studios, gallery space and install window displays to both create, show and sell their work. There is never a charge for patrons to take a stroll through and see some of the regions newest work.
All artwork is changed monthly with opening night occurring on the First Thursday of every month in conjunction with the First Thursdays on Main gallery crawl.
The Tapp’s building has been a part of Columbia’s downtown culture for almost a century. It is an iconic Art Deco, black and white fixture in the city skyline.
