Accessibility Mornings at the SC State Museum in downtown Columbia are back!
Offered on the second Saturday of each month, this program allows children, teenagers and adults who are neurodiverse, autistic or have other disabilities to experience the museum’s exhibitions at their own pace and enjoy other special activities such as book character readings with ASL interpretation and sensory-friendly 4D and planetarium shows.
In addition to these activities and a dedicated calming sensory room, the museum can also provide additional equipment and other technology, including fidget tools, noise-cancelling headphones, weighted lap pads, assistive listening devices, wheelchairs and more if needed to ensure all SCSM guests have what they need.
