Jimmy Fortune, a legendary member of the Statler Brothers, spent 21 incredible years touring and performing with the iconic group. Initially stepping in as a temporary replacement for Lew DeWitt in 1982, Fortune quickly made a lasting impact. He penned some of their biggest hits, including the No. 1 smash “Elizabeth,” along with fan favorites like “My Only Love” and “Too Much On My Heart,” cementing his place in country music history.
Throughout his career with the Statlers, Jimmy captivated audiences across North America, performing in front of crowds as large as 100,000 and even singing at the White House for Presidents Reagan and Bush. His contributions helped the group achieve gold and platinum albums, and he starred on the wildly popular TV show, *The Statler Brothers Show.* Inducted into both the GMA and CMA Halls of Fame, Jimmy’s legacy is unmatched, and when the Statlers retired in 2002, he embarked on a thrilling solo career.
