Major League Fishing Bass Pro Tour

Capital City/Lake Murray Country is thrilled to announce that The MLF Bass Pro Tour will be fishing the waters of Lake Murray April 2-7, 2023!

The six-day tournament, hosted by Capital City/Lake Murray Country, will showcase 80 of the top professional anglers in the world, including bass-fishing superstars like Kevin VanDam, REDCREST 2023 Champion Bryan Thrift, Jacob Wheeler, Jordan Lee, and local favorite Anthony Gagliardi of Prosperity, South Carolina. They’ll be competing for a purse of more than $805,000, including a top payout of $100,000 and valuable Angler of the Year (AOY) points in hopes of qualifying for the General Tire Heavy Hitters All-Star event and REDCREST 2024, the Bass Pro Tour championship.

Anglers will launch each day at 7:30 AM ET each day from Dreher Island State Park, located at 3677 State Park Road in Prosperity. Each day’s General Tire Takeout will be held at the launch locations, beginning at 4 PM. Fans are welcome to attend all launch and takeout events and also encouraged to follow the event online throughout the day on the MLF NOW!® live stream and SCORETRACKER® coverage at MajorLeagueFishing.com.

Television coverage of the Fox Rent A Car Stage Three at Lake Murray Presented by Mercury will air as two, two-hour episodes starting at 7 a.m. ET, on Saturday, Sept. 30 and Saturday, Oct. 7 on the Discovery Channel. New MLF episodes premiere each Saturday morning on Discovery, with re-airings on the Outdoor Channel.

Format

Day 1: April 2 – Qualifying Round – Group A 

 Launch 7:30 a.m., Takeout 4 p.m. ET

• Forty anglers compete
• Catch, weigh, immediate release
• Each pro’s five heaviest bass per day will be scored
• Total weight carries to Qualifying Day 2

Day 2: April 3 – Qualifying Round – Group B 

 Launch 7:30 a.m., Takeout 4 p.m. ET

• Forty anglers compete
• Catch, weigh, immediate release
• Each pro’s five heaviest bass per day will be scored
• Total weight carries to Qualifying Day 2

Day 3: April 4 – Qualifying Round – Group A 

 Launch 7:30 a.m., Takeout 4 p.m. ET

• Forty anglers compete
• Catch, weigh, immediate release
• Each pro’s five heaviest bass per day will be scored
• Day 1 + Day 3 = total weight
• Anglers who finish in 1st-20th place advance to Knockout Round (Day 5)
• NO AUTOMATIC ADVANCEMENT to the Championship Round for winning the Qualifying Rounds
• Bottom 20 anglers are eliminated

Day 4: April 5 – Qualifying Round – Group B

 Launch 7:30 a.m., Takeout 4 p.m. ET

• Forty anglers compete
• Catch, weigh, immediate release
• Each pro’s five heaviest bass per day will be scored
• Day 2 + Day 4 = total weight
• Anglers who finish in 1st-20th place advance to Knockout Round (Day 5)
• NO AUTOMATIC ADVANCEMENT to the Championship Round for winning the Qualifying Rounds
• Bottom 20 anglers are eliminated

Day 5: April 6 – Knockout Round

 Launch 7:30 a.m., Takeout 4 p.m. ET

• Forty anglers compete
• Catch, weigh, immediate release
• Zero weight to start
• Each pro’s five heaviest bass per day will be scored
• Top 10 anglers advance to Championship Round
• Bottom 30 anglers are eliminated
• WEIGHTS DO NOT ZERO FOR THE CHAMPIONSHIP ROUND. Top 10’s weights will carry over from the Knockout Round

Day 6: April 7 – Championship Round

 Launch 7:30 a.m., Takeout 4 p.m. ET

1 p.m. Watch Party | 4 p.m. Anger Celebration, Meet & Greet/ Trophy Presentation

Come hang out, enjoy FREE food, and watch the pros live on the MLFNOW! big screen during the MLF Watch Party. Then, enter the raffle for giveaways* and cheer on the best in bass fishing and the Stage Three Champion. The Top 10 anglers will cross the stage at the Angler Celebration following lines out at 4 p.m.
