Events

The City of Newberry Parks, Recreation, and Tourism office will be hosting Moonlight Movie Nights following first Friday Main Street Shop & Dine nights on June 4, July 2, and August 6. All movies will begin at approximately 8:30 pm/sunset and will be shown in Memorial Park. Additionally, the screen for the summer series in the park the biggest yet at 26 feet, making the outdoor movie experience just that much more fun! Those attending are asked to please bring their lawn chair or a blanket for seating. All attending are expected to continue to practice social distancing from those outside their household and wear a mask to protect themselves and others from the spread of COVID-19, per CDC guidelines.

The 2021 Moonlight Movie Night features will be determined by polls conducted online. Each month will have a new theme.

June’s will be between two children’s summer-reading classics turned movies, Call of the Wild (2020) or The Secret Garden (2020).

July’s between two all-American baseball classics, Rookie of the Year (1993) or Angels in the Outfield (1994).

And finally, August’s between new “Sheroes” movies, Wonder Woman 1984 (2020) or Raya and the Last Dragon (2021).
