The City of Newberry is proud to celebrate the academic excellence of its elementary-age honor roll students with a special recognition event. This initiative highlights the dedication and hard work of young scholars in our community, reinforcing the value of education and achievement. Families, friends, and educators are invited to join in this celebration, where students will be honored for their outstanding academic performance in a supportive and festive atmosphere.

On Wednesday, April 9th, students from different schools will be recognized at the following times:

Gallman & Newberry Elementary

• 5:00 p.m. – Free ice cream in Memorial Park (courtesy of Laila’s Place)
• 6:00 p.m. – Recognition ceremony at the Newberry Opera House

Boundary, Reuben, & Newberry Academy

• 6:00 p.m. – Free ice cream in Memorial Park
• 7:00 p.m. – Recognition ceremony at the Newberry Opera House

Each honored student will receive a certificate celebrating their hard work, and families are encouraged to check in upon arrival to receive their ice cream tickets. With free admission and general seating, this event is a wonderful opportunity for the community to come together and celebrate the achievements of its young Academic All-Stars.
