Inspiring performances, luminous sound, and exceptional musicianship are the hallmarks of the Grammy Award-winning Parker Quartet (Daniel Chong and Ken Hamao, violins; Jessica Bodner, viola; Kee-Hyun Kim, cello). As artists-in-residence at USC for over ten years, the quartet has been Columbia’s favorite. The group is uniformly praised for its stunning ensemble playing and “exceptional virtuosity [and] imaginative interpretation[s]” (Washington Post). They are performing twice this semester, once with acclaimed composer and pianist Vijay Iyer for the first time on the Southern Exposure concert series on Wednesday, April 3, and for a family-friendly Sunday concert on April 7.
