koger center for the arts university of south carolina

For one week every June, the Southeastern Piano Festival (SEPF) transforms the University of South Carolina School of Music and the city of Columbia into a major cultural destination that draws in audiences and young piano talent from across the United States. The Southeastern Piano Festival embraces a multi-faceted personality.

Twenty of the most accomplished pre-college pianists on the piano scene today take part in a rigorous program that includes daily lessons with University of South Carolina piano faculty, master classes with guest artists, and up to five hours of practice a day. The week’s events culminate with the Arthur Fraser International Piano Competition, adjudicated by a distinguished panel of judges. Winners of the competition receive cash awards and the opportunity to perform with the South Carolina Philharmonic. Visit SoutheasternPianoFestival.com for a full listing of masterclasses, lectures and public concerts.

SEPF offers nightly concerts for music lovers featuring a rich lineup of world-class pianists, such as Inon Barnartan, Marina Lomazov, Joseph Rackers, Lisa Moore, and Rachel Breen. The concerts will be held at two locations: Marina Lomazov and Joseph Rackers will perform in Darla Moore School of Business, Johnson Hall, while all other concerts will take place in the USC School of Music Recital Hall. The tickets for general admission are priced at $20. Please note that there won’t be any live stream or on-demand viewing available.
