Epitomizing 50s harmonizing Rock n’ Roll, The Diamonds are probably best known for their 1957 hit “Little Darlin’.” While written by South Carolinas own Maurice Williams, the song came to prominence with The Diamonds and was one of their three Gold Records alongside “Silhouettes” and “The Stroll”.
The Diamonds appeared on “American Bandstand” 33 times, had their music featured in “American Graffiti” and on “Happy Days,” making them the soundtrack for a generation and paving the way for them to be inducted into the Vocal Group and Doo-Wop Hall of Fame. Singing with the group since 1973 Gary Owens is joined by Adam Marino, Jeff Dolan, and SC native Michael Lawrence to comprise their classic four-part harmony.
