Spirit of Americana Weekend

On Saturday, June 28 and Sunday, June 29, experience the Spirit of Americana in Lake Murray Country with two incredible patriotic events: Lake Murray’s Independence Day Celebration and The Great Race Grand Finish!

Each year on the Saturday before July 4th, South Carolina’s largest fireworks show lights up the sky over Lake Murray! Fireworks launch from Spence Island and Dreher Island, synchronized to patriotic music aired on a local radio station. Thousands enjoy the show by boat, but land-based viewing is also available at Dreher Island State Park. This annual celebration is made possible by proceeds from Taste of Lake Murray, the official fundraiser for the event.
