Ballet Hispanico 2018

Date: Apr 30, 2018
Category(s):
From its grassroots origins as a NYC dance school and community-based performing arts troupe in 1970, Ballet Hispánico has grown into a world-class institution. Founder Tina Ramirez won the National Medal of Arts for her work bridging traditional ballet discipline with opportunity for Latino artists to express their voice. Former director of Chicago's Luna Negra Dance Theatre and first generation Cuban-American, Eduardo Vilaro took the helm of Ballet Hispanico in 2009 and has since brought brillant and breathtaking pieces to the stage, such as a tribute to the music of Celia Cruz and an all female choreographed 16-17 NYC season.
