« Explore the Jewel

Just a few years ago, Richland County was given the All-American City Award, a Nobel Prize for Civic Involvement. Residents and visitors agree that Richland County is deserving of this status because of its perfect blend of business, community, the arts and the historical foundation on which it was built. The City of Columbia, the capital of South Carolina, has been making a name for itself undergoing restorations and planned growth, converting old spaces into something new. The Congaree Vista area of town has transformed into a hotspot for culture, dining and shopping.

Visitors to downtown Columbia have a lot to keep themselves busy. They can stroll through the 4 story SC State Museum or plan to take the family to the south’s largest Children’s Museum, EdVenture.

History buffs can take a tour of the South Carolina State House. The city of Columbia sits alongside the Congaree River and offers trails for hiking and biking and vendors offering water activities such as kayaking and tubing.
