Itineraries Teen Family Playcation
1 Day of Teen-Friendly Locations to Visit in Lake Murray Country
From Lexington to Newberry
Vickie Davis is the Vice President of Special Events and Funding at Capital City/Lake Murray Country and mother to 3 teenage children. “As a mom of 3, I want my family to have fun while getting some sort of exercise whether it is physical or mental, so here is my suggestion for a family day in our region with teenagers exploring Lexington and Newberry, South Carolina.” Her real-life recommendation is to not include them in the planning (they are teens and will disagree with you on everything) and to make the most of the car ride with fun and profound conversational topics (your days in the car with them are limited once they start driving). Check out her teen #Playcation itinerary!

Nature Walk: Virginia Hylton Park
After breakfast, we’re ready to get outside and enjoy the beautiful weather. My favorite nature walk/hike-would is a walk through Virginia Hilton Park along Twelve Mile Creek. I love stopping at the overlook and watching the waterfall. Also, you are never too old to swing on the swings. Park amenities include: Tree-shaded oasis, koi ponds, gardens & a creek with scenic overlooks.
