Day 1

Friday in Columbia

Kick off your romantic Valentine’s Weekend in Lake Murray Country with a timeless date night combo: dinner and a movie! Start at Hendrix in downtown Columbia, where you can savor small plates on their rooftop bar while taking in the city views.

Afterward, head over to The Nickelodeon to catch a film. Whether it’s a blockbuster, a Hollywood classic, or a local indie project, there’s always something special playing.

Before calling it a night, treat yourselves to handcrafted ice cream at Sweet Cream Co. The best part? Everything is conveniently located on the 1600 block, so you won’t have to go far for this perfect Valentine’s Day evening

Day 2

Saturday in Lexington & Newberry

Start your day with a cute coffee date at O’Hara’s Bakery Cafe in downtown Lexington, the perfect spot to set a sweet tone for your romantic day together. While you’re there, grab some fresh bakery treats to enjoy later.

Next, head to Lake Murray Public Park for a stroll across the Dreher Shoals Dam, where you’ll take in stunning views of Lake Murray. When you’re ready for a break, set up a cozy picnic back at the park with those bakery goodies. Choose a spot in a covered shelter or spread out on the grass to slow down and savor the moment with your special someone

Afterward, hit the road for a mini road trip to Newberry. Depending on your vibe, you’ve got plenty of options: share a wine tasting at Enoree River Winery, tour the dreamy greenhouses at Carter & Holmes Orchids, or wander downtown to explore local gems like The Gallery & Tea Room. Whether you pick one activity or sample them all, it’s the perfect way to spend quality time together.

Wrap up your day with dinner at Figaro The Dining Room. Enjoy seasonal, chef-crafted dishes paired with an excellent wine selection in a romantic yet relaxed atmosphere. Pro tip: if you’re not ready to call it a night quite yet, stop by Bar Figaro for a nightcap and live music and end the evening on a high note!

Day 3

Sunday in Saluda

For the final day of your romantic adventure, take it easy and connect with some local history. Visit Saluda and explore the Saluda County Historical Museum and Theatre. Here, you’ll find locally-themed memorabilia, the Instagram-worthy historic Saluda Theatre, and The 1700s Bonham House, where you can enjoy a guided tour by reservation. You’ll also discover why Saluda is “The Birthplace of Alamo Heroes!”

After soaking in all that history, you’ll have worked up an appetite. Head over to Matthews Oak & Hickory BBQ, just around the corner. This family-run spot serves up mouthwatering Southern barbecue that both locals and visitors love—perfect for a quick but satisfying meal.
