Chef Brian Duffy Joins the Southeastern BBQ Showdown as Celebrity Judge

Columbia, S.C. — Capital City/Lake Murray Country (CCLMC) is proud to unveil the second member of the Southeastern BBQ Showdown’s (SEBBQSD) esteemed judging panel. Chef Duffy is perhaps most recognized for his abundant television appearances on the wildly popular Spike TV series Bar Rescue, the Food Network, and national BBQ events.
We are delighted to announce that Chef Brian Duffy has joined the judges panel for the Southeastern BBQ Showdown,” said Miriam Atria, President/CEO of CCLMC. “Chef Duffy brings with him years of experience in the BBQ industry, having worked with numerous restaurants and appeared on network television. We believe that his expertise makes him the perfect addition to our judging panel. We’re sure that he’ll be tough to impress!
Born and raised in Philadelphia, PA, Chef Brian Duffy had his first experiences in the kitchen as a young child with his big Irish-Italian family. Those experiences led him to study at Philadelphia’s The Restaurant School at Walnut Hill College. After graduation, Chef Duffy worked under James Beard Award-winning Chef Jean Marie LaCroix at The Four Seasons in Philadelphia. From there he partnered in opening restaurants for employers & even a few of his own (over 100 restaurant & venue openings).
Chef Duffy’s most recent show Opening Night (on the Food Network) follows him through his 7-day process of opening a restaurant & the roadblocks that come along the way. Duffy made his national on-camera debut over 17 years ago on the Food Network and has appeared on countless networks & streaming platforms. His current Love of BBQ & Travel has exploded after winning the Food Network’s coveted “Barn Smoker” event in Dallas during the summer of 2023. When he isn’t with clients, taping, or traveling, Chef Duffy is working on his first book, and hanging out with his family & friends in the suburbs of Philadelphia.
