Columbia, SC. — The Capital City/Lake Murray Country (CCLMC) Visitor’s Center will host its annual Holiday Open House & Gift Shop Sale, on Thursday, November 16, 2023, and you’re invited! The Holiday Open House will take place from 10 AM – 5:00 PM at the Lake Murray Country Visitors Center located at 2184 North Lake Drive near the Lake Murray Dam.
Looking for Lake Murray gifts for your friends and family this holiday season? Look no further! The Lake Murray Country Gift Shop has you covered with Lake Murray merchandise ranging from t-shirts to home decor and more! Make sure to pick up this year’s new holiday t-shirt featuring the popular “Murray & Bright” slogan. Grab these items quickly, as they sell out fast!
“Lake Murray Country’s Holiday Open House & Gift Shop Sale is a great way to get into the spirit of the holiday season. Many of the items in stock are from local artisans and businesses,” said Miriam Atria, President/CEO of CCLMC.
Do you have family visiting from out of town this holiday season? Bring them by the Visitor’s Center. The staff can provide you with information and brochures on the region’s attractions, hotels, events, dining, recreation, relocation, and much more. Learn about Lake Murray’s history, the construction of the dam, and view local artifacts. Hours of operation are Monday-Friday, (9 AM – 4:30 PM), Saturday (10 AM – 2 PM) Sunday (11 AM – 2 PM). Christmas Light Boat Parade | December 2
Lake Murray Country’s Christmas Light Boat Parade returns on Saturday, December 2. You don’t want to miss this family-friendly waterfront event that will get everyone in the holiday spirit! Admission is FREE and open to the public at the Lake Murray Dam Public Park in Lexington (1832-1834 N Lake Dr, Lexington). Watch as brightly decorated boats parade by decked out for the season, enjoy Christmas carols (have your phone or flashlight ready for “Silent Night”), and a fireworks finale. The park opens at 4:30 PM, space is limited (plan to arrive early) and will close once it reaches capacity. The Boat Parade will begin at 6:00 PM. Pack your family, friends, and a picnic, and join us on December 2 at Lake Murray!

Cash Prizes will be awarded: 1st Place – $1,000; 2nd Place – $750; 3rd Place – $500. Call the Lake Murray Country Visitors Center at 803-781-5941, go online, or stop by the Visitors Center located at 2184 North Lake Dr, Columbia to register. Boats must be 21 feet or larger to participate. Registration will close on Monday, November 27 at Noon.
