The Winners of The 2023 Christmas Light Boat Parade on Lake Murray are…

Columbia, S.C.— The 2023 Christmas Light Boat Parade on Lake Murray occurred on Saturday, December 2. Spectators filled the Lake Murray Dam Public Park in Lexington (to capacity) to watch 20 brightly decorated boats decked out for the season parade by. The Spirit of Lake Murray made her inaugural voyage and led the Parade.

Judges: Jordan Lawrence (Lexington Chronicle), Jamal Goss (WIS), and David Stringer (COLAtoday) for their help in selecting the top 3 winning boats.

And without further adieu the winners are…

1st Place $1,000: Gumdrop House – Lorne White

2nd Place $750: T-Rex pulling Santa – Taylor Bell

3rd Place $500: Christmas at the zoo – Nathan Simpson

Save the date for the next boat parade!

Capital City/Lake Murray Country will host the 4th of July Fireworks Celebration & Patriotic Boat Parade on Saturday, June 29, 2024. Funding for the celebration is raised at the Taste of Lake Murray. Early bird tickets are on sale now for the March 21, 2024 event at the DoubleTree by Hilton. This exciting evening of regional cuisine, fabulous drinks, and amazing music, is the region’s favorite “party with a purpose”.
