DAY 2:
Morning:
Wake up and enjoy breakfast, before stopping by the Lake Murray Visitors Center which is located only a few feet from the historic Lake Murray Dam. The Lorick Plantation which houses the Lake Murray Visitors Center is a great place to find brochures of fun things to do in the region. Tour this historic home and its museum to find out more about the construction of the man made earthen dam, the history of the lake, artifacts from Native Americans and the World War II Doolittle Raiders practice area.

Afternoon:
Take in a great view by having a picnic lunch at one of the SCE&G Lake Murray Park sites, where you can sit at picnic pavilions or put your toes in the sand on either side of the 2 mile dam, and then take a walk along the Lake Murray Dam walkway to see the views up close.

Select to dine at Liberty on the Lake and enjoy one of the lakes most sought after dining views around the region. After lunch, hike the nature trails at Dreher Island State Park or rent a bicycle at Saluda Shoals Park to enjoy the beautiful weather in Lake Murray Country.

Evening:
Enjoy a sunset dinner cruise aboard The Spirit of Lake Murray year round. During the months of June-August experience a spectacular nature phenomenon at its best called the Purple Martin Phenomenon. The Purple Martins have found a sanctuary on an island in the middle of Lake Murray called Bomb Island. These birds fly in by the hundreds of thousands each morning and night at sunset to roost on Bomb Island. The show you will see is an unbelievable sight to behold and one you must experience while visiting Lake Murray Country.
