Lake Murray's 4th of July Celebration - Saturday, July 1st, 2017
Lake Murray's 4th of July celebration is scheduled for Saturday, July 1st and will begin with the annual boat parade at Noon and end with a spectacular fireworks show at dark. Fireworks will launch from two lake locations, Dreher Island and Spence Island.
Boat Parade participants are encouraged to register their boat to join the parade and decorate their boats according to this year's theme "A Star Spangled Celebration." BOAT PARADE REGISTRATION HAS NOW CLOSED.

What day will the event be held? Saturday, July 1st
What if it rains? The festivities will go on as scheduled unless there is an emergency weather alert. In the event of inclement weather and unsafe conditions, any rescheduling would be announced on our partner radio stations: B106.7FM or 98.5FM. Notices would also be sent to the local TV stations. In the event of postponement events would be rescheduled ONE time, to be held on Sunday, July 2nd, following the same schedule.

What time will the Parade start? Between 12pm and 12:30pm.
How do I register before June 28th?
a. via phone (staff: use the registration form and complete the questions, leave it for Lorraine to complete the registration process and mail their packets)
b. by emailing the completed registration form to: Lorraine@lakemurrycountry.com
c. by visiting lakemurraycountry.com, clicking the 4th of July Celebration icon and printing off the registration form
d. or they can come by our office to complete
How do I register after June 28th?
a. by any of the above methods, HOWEVER NO INFO PACKETS (which includes Parade Entry Numbers) WILL BE MAILED. Registrants MUST come by the Visitor Center to pick up their packets to ensure they receive them before Saturday, July 1st .
Deadline to register? Friday, June 30th at Noon.
How much does it cost to participate in the Boat Parade? Nothing, it’s FREE!
What is the Parade Route? It will start with the Parade assembly at Bomb Island and move toward the Lake Murray Dam. Registered boats should fall in line behind Lead Boat, Fantasy Island. It will pass the Lexington Park Site and make the half circle around the Towers and then pass the Irmo Park Site. After which time, the boats will pass the Lead Boat, The Fantasy Island, for judging and photos.
Where is the best spot to view the Parade? From the Park Sites at the Dam (normal park fees apply - $3 car/truck and $2 motorcycles) or by boat.
How will I know if I win the parade? The winners (plus available photo’s) will be posted on our website on/after Monday July 3rd, and on our Facebook Page! All winners will be notified by mail as well.
Dreher Island State Park Questions:
Is there a concert this year? No
Is there a fee? Normal Park admissions apply. ($2.00/adults; $1.25/SC Seniors; Ages 15-under, free)
Can I bring something to sit on? Sure, lawn chairs and blankets are allowed. (picnics welcome – NO Alcohol)
Can I view the fireworks from the Park? Yes! You are ideally placed for optimal viewing. ** Entry into the Park will end at 8:00 pm to ensure emergency vehicles have access to the park! Please be aware & courteous! **
What time do the fireworks launch? At dusk, approximately 9:15 pm. Tune into Cumulus Broadcasting stations, WTCB B106.7 FM and WOMG/ Classic Hits 98.5 for the Choregraphed Patriotic Music Show. This will indicate to you the beginning of the show.
Where will the fireworks launch from? Dreher Island and Spence Island (NOT the Parks at the DAM)
Where can I see the show from? By boat near Spence Island or Dreher island and both parks at the Lake Murray Dam are the best sites for viewing the shows. Bare in mind, they are limited on parking and will be open to first come, to capacity parking. (Dreher Island State Park will stop allowing parking at 8pm to allow emergency vehicle access.) All normal park fees apply. (Dreher: $2/ adults; $1.25 SC Seniors/ Ages 15-under Free | Parks at the Dam: $3/ cars & trucks; $2/motorcycles and $5 buses)
