Planning to spend the day on Lake Murray or want to take the boat to dinner? Next time you’re out on a boating adventure, leave your picnic basket at home and float to one of these restaurants on Lake Murray. Don’t have a boat? Don’t fret; these locations can also be accessed via land.

Liberty on the Lake

1602 Marina Road, Irmo

Liberty on the Lake, located on the Irmo side of Lake Murray is the place to be. This lakefront property offers fabulous views, lively atmosphere and delicious food starting with all time favorites, right down to dessert. Liberty tempts guests with a flavorful list of appetizers, like fried calamari and old-school chicken tacos to their take on a Low country Mac and Cheese or their Disco Fries. They have a tasty selection of sandwiches, like the Fried Chicken with deviled egg sauce and pickles and the Ahi Tuna or Liberty Club. Then there are the mouth-watering burgers and trios of tacos. Liberty is all about food and fun and a fabulous sunset!

Rusty Anchor and Catfish Johnny’s located in Chapin

Rusty Anchor and Catfish Johnny’s offers the best of both options…finer dining and an outside bar serving up food and live music. So, if you desire a big meal, head inside Rusty Anchor for your choice of steaks and seafood. And if you want to order food from the bar, head outside to Catfish Johnny’s. You can bring your order back to the boat or grab a seat on the deck. At Catfish Johnny’s, the fried catfish is popular as well as the Boom Boom Shrimp wrap. But, before you take a bite of food…try one of their frozen concoctions… the Dirty Banana, Miami Vice and Mango Margarita are just a few favorites.

DW‘s Lakeside Restaurant at Timberlake Country Club

222 Timberlake Drive, Chapin

Just pull up to one of the slips at Timberlake Country Club and you’ll find D.W.’s Lakeside Restaurant right inside the clubhouse. This lake-dining stop, located in Chapin, is great because you can order bar bites or drop in for fine dining. If you want the fine dining option, there are entrees like the Black Angus Rib eye, Blackened Steak Alfredo and D.W.’s Brisket Salad that you’ll love. For the lighter fare, there are yummy selections including the fish bites, loaded fries and the White Russian sandwich.

Buffalo Creek Bar and Grill

850 Marina Way, Prosperity

Buffalo Creek Bar and Grill is a casual, quaint lake bar that serves beverages, burgers and fish and chips that are raved about. For an appetizer, try the corn nuggets. Buffalo Creek option has live music and, as always, you can order your food to go; the servers will bring your order right to your boat.

Big Mans at Hallman Bridge in Saluda

125 Big Mans Road, Leesville

Big Man’s is located on the northern end of Lake Murray in Saluda County. Everyone agrees it is worth the trip and has the best hamburger on the lake! Due to their popularity, Big Man’s encourages call ahead orders. And, if you don’t want a burger there’s other mouth-watering options such as the bacon, egg and cheese sandwich and the grilled patty melt with onions and Swiss cheese.

TB’s Lake Shack at Blacks Bridge

3644 Prosperity Highway, Prosperity

This little gem, located in Prosperity, is a private lake shack. There’s a $20 annual membership fee but it looks like a fun venue to enjoy a beverage, a sunset and music on the deck. For information on membership, contact TB’s directly (803) 364-3500.
